Straight answers
The questions we get asked most, answered the way we would on site.
Do I need a battery?
Not always. A battery makes sense if you use most of your power in the evening, want backup in a blackout, or export a lot of solar for very little back. If your bill is already small, something cheaper like a hot water timer may do more. We'll tell you which fits.
Is there a rebate for batteries?
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program can take money off an eligible battery installed with solar. The rate drops over time and as battery size grows, so we check what applies on the day and show it on your quote. Off-grid systems follow different rules, so ask us.
How do you size an off-grid system?
We start with what you run and when, then work out how many cloudy days the battery has to carry you through. The battery bank is the biggest cost, so that number matters more than the panel count.
Can you do solar and a switchboard upgrade in one job?
Yes. Older boards often need work before solar or a battery can go on, so we quote it together and do it in one visit where we can.

Licensed electricians. Our Queensland contractor licence is 88879, and every job is tested before we hand it over.
